During the mid-’50s in Harvey Park, post war housing was beginning to change. Different than the need to build as much housing as possible for returning veterans and their families after World War II, there was now an interest by home buyers to find a great home for their growing family. They had good jobs (many at the Martin facilities nearby) and were looking for something better than they had . . . and builders were responding in every way they could to bring the best and newest ideas in home building to Harvey Park.
C.C. Ford brought a new line of contemporary homes. Although they lacked some of the window walls and vaulted ceilings that are typical of the Cliff May Homes or Carey “Holiday Homes” nearby, they took a more conservative approach while still innovating with open and flexible floor plans, a mix of brick veneer and vertical plywood siding, low-slope roofs, attached carports, and thoughtful window placement. 2708 S Patton Court is one of 3 contemporary models offered by C.C.
